Air Temp: 87
Water Temp: 77 (cold water upwelling the length of the beach)
Wind: 5-15 SE
Waves: 2-4 ft
Water Clarity: Very cloudy out to 3rd bar.
Weed: Only new weed is from the 10 North but a minimal amount. Some dead weed south but it's minimal.
Driving: At high tide it's make your kidneys bleed kind of bumpy. Some 4x4 needed in spots from the 20 south. There is no road at high tide south of the 35. Sink holes are becoming a real issue. Saw 2 places where someone spent some serious time getting vehicles out of them.
Birds: 3 Curlew, 1 Marbled Godwit, 1 Tri-colored heron. There were very few birds on the beach. Pelicans were hitting the color change at the 3rd bar.
Also saw 6 White-tailed Deer and 1 dead coyote. Dolphin were thick in the mid 50's outside the 3rd bar. There is a lot of finger mullet in the surf but, I did not see anything chasing them all day.

x2 on that!
I feel so bad for those folks who get stuck in those sink holes. Especially those who start fishing the beach when they aren't a problem, get a few good trips in and then SURPRISE... you're screwed. _________________ Fish hard. You never know when you'll make you last trip south. |
