Started out a little rough headed out and got 15 minutes down the road before I was like hey dumb arse you left your paddle. Sad Soooo after yellin at my self for a few minutes and going home and picking up the paddle I headed back out. North packery was my first stop, water was nasty brown and the fish just didn't seem to wanna play. Got to see bamared and talked a minute with him before I headed out to my next spot, which is only about 5 minutes away in the laguna Wink
Once there I tied on a GULP new penny 4" shrimp and started a drift. The pin perch were like piranhas on it, but I managed to fish through them and got a 18" red. Then I paddled back where I started from to start my 2nd drift, this time with a pink and chrome mirror lure top dog. Then the fun began, blow up after blow up the fish went nuts, I was like a kid in a candy store. Then BOOM and drag starts running and my hearts start pounding after a couple of minutes of back and forth I landed a 29" red my PB "sorry no pics I don't bring my phone on the yak" then I decided to make one more drift and caught my PB trout at 24" AND two pin perch as big as my hand on top water.
It made for a awesome morning and can't wait to get at it again in the morning!! Water was still dirty, but kinda looked like it might be clearing up a little.
Rip some lips!!

Nice report. I try to use a checklist, cause boys tend to get forgetful when pursuing their passions. Very Happy

Were you the one saying you were new to the Bluff and from Georgia? Spent a while fighting our enemies?

If so, Thank you for your service! However, I call BS on the rest!

Awesome Report!

Yep that's me! Lol I promise I have never fished in a bay until around the beggining of June. However it's not much different then bass fishing I have done a LOT of that.

I was surprised at how active the fish were later in the morning on a hot day like that. Until this brown tide goes away I will be throwing top water only.
