From Caller Times "A report that ranks Texas among the worst at protecting its marine environments is drawing criticism from state and local conservation and fisheries organizations."
Total garbage. They then go on to discuss MPA's. California comes to mind as they have closes a major number of areas that have seriously limited fishing access. No to MPA's

We've been through this topic before ....and the answer is still "NO".
Was it a Texas "state" mandate that started pulling all the rigs/artificial reefs down. Don't think so.
California-Pacific environments and Texas-Gulf environments are apples and oranges when it comes to protections and stewardships. Biggest difference is that California has Californians living on it's coast and Texas has Texans on it's. |

don't be so sure of that... padre island is chock full or east coast and west coast people that retired here.... funny thing, they move here to retire and start demanding that texas turn into the state they left.
there's really a simple solution for all that. |

| dont be surprised if more regulations dont start showing up. our good economy is drawing some of those tree huggers to our state and it wont be long before they get into our politics and try to make us like more like california. look at austin for an example |

I'll be happy to be the first one to say it... Liberalism!
I tend to agree with you eksda. Moreover, hollyweird has been very successful in creating organic liberal growth in our communities. I can tell you with absolute certainty that the culture of our young people inside our high schools is night and day from even ten years ago. I get that from talking to my nephews and nieces. Can conservatism survive? I think the bigger question is will conservatism be tolerated? Probably not for too much longer. The cancer of liberalism is a juggernaut. As a nation, this is simply what happens when pop culture raises our children and apathy sets in. The minority forces their lifestyles down our throats through the arts and we let them. Most of yall are probably like me and don't turn on the TV much these days. Try it every now and then. It's crazy.
There is a lot more at stake than our fishing access. _________________ Fish hard. You never know when you'll make you last trip south. |
