Does anyone know how the driving and weeds is at PINS?
I am headed out there on Sunday....but might just go Saturday evening....if the drive is right...don't want to spend the night so I have to drive out in the dark...and I don't want to end up in Cancun or somewhere...

Any info would be greatly appreciated...

I was there from Saturday till Tuesday...so here it goes!

At high tide, the driving is as bad as it gets!

At low tide, the fishing sucked!

At high tide, the weed was so heavy, it was unfishable!

The water color was ok in spots, but for the most part....off colored

We caught 10 gazillion hard heads...4 whiting...and a small jack....no shark runs!.....in 4 days!

For all of you optimistic folks, I will say, you never know...it could change overnight

For all of you realistic folks...IMO...pins ain't ready yet!!

Hopefully things will change for the better by next weekend on the new moon...Good luck to ya, and don't worry about ending up in cancun,I hear they have some type of road block near port Mansfield. Wink

Well....ended up at about the 8MM on Sunday....driving was good for a 2WD..I could have gone further...the grass was everywhere but manageable. I was there from about 8am till about 4pm..

Using dead shrimp and fishbites...I caught 2 skidjacks....1 I used for cut bait and 1 small whiting (got some good hits but no hook ups)....and freakin' tons of hardheads...!!

Every cast on my 2 smaller rods produced hardheads...most of them double hookers....I was so tired just reeling them in....very frustrating.

What the heck was that all about? I have been to PINS since last November and have never caught one before...that's why I loved going there....and now this?

Is this part of the norm there for this time of year? Will we be expecting this all spring/summer long?

Sorry....just pissed off a bit. I am hoping it will change soon.
Its just that they are all over the NAS pier as well.....Sad

And yes...I know...please forgive...I am just venting.

A bad day of fishing leads to a good day of drinking....Smile
