Los Olmos Creek is out of it's banks. I sure wish that could be maintained for a week or so! _________________ Why is it that these days sales people seem to be as honest as I am knowledgeable? |

That's not close to being enough water, buy the time the water in the creek
flows down to all the dams the ranchers have built to water the livestock there won't be but a very small amount reach Baffin.
It's going to take a TD or a hurricane.

Los Olmos is slightly out of its banks on my place NW of Falfurrias, but as speckled trout said it has many BIG tanks to fill on the large ranches before it gets past US 77 north of Sarita. Hopefully it rained enough farther up the creek toward Benavides and keeps the creek running for a while. I recorded 4.79 inches on my place. _________________ Off Shore Port Mansfield |

So which rivers have the best chance of bringing fresh water to the coast?? All the water from the flooding in San Antonio has to go somewhere. I would be thrilled if the Nueces got a good flushing, but I don't think the southern San Antonio area got nearly as much rain as north of SA. |

Here is a good link to river levels in Texas. It appears that the Nueces at 3 Rivers is way above flood stage. That is good news for cleaning out the river and maybe a good place to go and do some fishing in the next couple of weeks.
The rest of the water seems to be in the San Antonio and Guadalupe river systems which are essentially one and the same at the coast.

We got 8 inches here in New Braunfels over the 2 day stretch. Hope it did Canyon lake some good? I know the Guadalupe is flowing now. _________________ wishin i was fishin! |

Pretty sure most of the rain fell downstream of Canyon Lake. |

most of that san antonio flooding that happened south of the northern side of 1604 will get into the san antonio river... it's not going to help us at all down here.
With the lake corpus levels where they are, most of that flooding around three rivers is going to get sucked up into the lake levels.
we need the rain close to the bay to help at all.. south of lake corpus |

quite alot is headed to San Antonio Bay
the Aquifer has gained a bunch, too, but only Bexar Co. really got alot of rain. west of there with the exeption of Leaky only got about an inch. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |
