Awhile back I posted problems ...4wd will not come out.....I took everyones advise and replaced the acuator...did not fix it....three questions

1. it there a way to disconect something so it goes back onto 2wd?

2. if i unplug the acuator, would that take it out of 4wd?

3. can someone recommend a shop i corpus that they think could fix it

Can't go to PINS till fixed and that is not good!

David

Jack the truck up. Put the tcase is 4 and the tranny in N. Spin the driveshaft by hand. If the drivers side axle spins in the front, the diff is not disengaging. This happened to me on the beach in an 05 Tacoma.

David, ask for Jorge at general transmission. He does work on the side. I pulled my transfer case and took it to him. Labor was flat rate and he ordered part that I paid for. Had it back in a couple of days. I am very happy with the work he did. D.
