Just purchased a Castaway Skeleton Wader Special Light at Roys today. Pairing it up on my Shimano Chronarch 200E7. I was looking for a replacement rod for lures, but I'm curious how well it works with soft plastics.

Does anyone have this rod and use it with soft plastics often? Would you recommend it?

Thanks!

I use them pretty much exclusively. Baitcast and spinning. They work well with hard lures and soft plastics.

Good deal! Tried it out yesterday and it does feel a bit different than my previous worm rod (St. Croix Tidemaster) and its great! Takes a bit less effort to work the lure and I think it'll be great for a long day of wading.

The skeleton is the only rod I'm using these days.

I have several and really like them. My preference for plastic is a medium action rod with a softer tip. Seems to provide better action on the lure and gives a little to not rip the hook out of a trout's relativly soft mouth.

I'm a fan of Castaway rods. Have several spinningh rods. They cast well, have held up nicely and are allaround good for the price! <*/)))><

I have the same Skeleton model. Fast action and very light in weight and power. This model versus the medium light version is the lightest rod I own. I compared it to the high end Shimano rod and it still comes out lighter at a much better price. So far I use it exclusively for tails on a 1/16 or 1/8 jighead. Last time out I hooked into an upper slot red throwing a Hogie swimming jack on the Skeleton. It was fun fun fun.

Not sure what castaway I had a few years ago but I gave it away. Maybe they improved.
