| The mouth of Baffin can be a real scary experience in high winds. |

I hear that. We went down to the cabin Friday night loaded with materials to work on the pier. We worked our behinds off Saturday and fished for a little while that evening under the newly installed lights before calling it so that we could wake up early Sunday to get some fishing in. So much for that. My boat was situated into the wind from the previous day and when the winds changed and started white-capping from the opposite direction my boat took on way too much water over the stern and turned on its side. Luckily for me when I caught it I ran down and fired up the gas powered water pump we were using to jet our posts in and dropped the intake into the boat. At first the pump (3" intake) could not keep up with the crashing waves, but a buddy and I were able to lift up the rear of the boat long enough for the pump to gain the advantage and get the boat emptied out enough that the bilge could finish off the job. It was an eventful weekend to say the least. I may post up a full account of the weekend if I can get the repressed memories to come back |
