Sorry for the late report!
Port Aransas:
Water temp: 70.5 and 68.5 towards corpus
Waves: 3 to 5 feet S.E. swell Glassy!
Water color: Beautiful green with 7/10 clarity
Bait: some shad and mullet jumping now and then
Tide: high at 2:52 p.m.
Wind: 5 mph E
Pretty thick fog
Tidal Coefficient: 63 climbing to 70 in p.m.
My fishability rating: 7/10
I spent a few hours at the Port A jetty this morning throwing artificial. There were some dancing shad but I only got one hit from a smack. No fish busting the surface. The fish are there but waiting for the sun to burn off the fog. I saw several small sheeps caught and one big slot red walk by from out towards the end. Also I saw a few mangrove caught in the channel. I've got a lot of work to do so I headed home at 10:30.
I plan on hitting the surf in the morning. I expect the action will be on before the approaching cold front.
Good luck all. |
