I decided to take a day off and try the surf last Monday since the Spring Break was over. Got to the beach around 1030. Started at the North Sticks and worked my North.. Actually only stopped one time at the beginning of Kleberg County. I casted out a LDX with Penn Squall and usual's setup .DCD3 dead shrimp/fishbites. Some weed far out with current. Tried in the first gut and bam, Pomps. Set out two more rods and started getting multiple bites of Pomps-Black Drum=Whiting-Bonnet nose- hard heads & one 32 inch Redfish(released). I was by myself in the fog having a blast.. Ended up with 15 large whitings all full of eggs, ten Pomps some full of eggs and a keeper black drum. I let the hardheads and the over size Red geaux free!!! I also tested out my swimming pool thermometer and the water was 70 degrees.....

I made that out of wood and painted it for my landscaping company and to put a tarp on it to sleep peacefully at the beach... I can haul more brush off to the landfill with a larger area. _________________

| TFTR and nice box of fish even if I did have to read the GEAUX reference to LSU. I am actually in St. Martinville Louisiana as I am typing this. Have to work over here for a couple days. I did bring my gator shirt to annoy these tiger fans. LOL. I have alot of family that went to LSU. Not a bitter rivalry but fun to give each other a hard time. |
