I decided to go to the famous "Site 55" I have heard so much about. I had to find out where to go by exploring on google earth....I got out there about 3pm and decided to set up camp on the abandon shrimp boat about 2/3 down the beach. Saw a dude wade fishing and another guy with a sail line. My cousin and I threw out a few poles with a mixture of dead shrimp and fishbites. We through out several lures and spoons because the water was moving like crazy but got nothing. We set up the big poles about sunset and that is when they started hitting. During our good luck a boat decided to come over and stop right where we were casting our lines. After about an hour we heard them try to start the boat up and it was out of gas. lol. Karma...Well one guy jumped out and started pulling it to shore and that is when the Big ol' Drum hit. We were having a good fish fight right infront of this rude boat guy. lol When the night was over we eneded up taking home 9 drum. Biggest being 23" smallest being 15". Just for the record, we caught two nice redfish around 16" or so. Great night.

Very nice!! I hate rude boat people. I was fishing Red Dot about this time last year and fishing for some BU's. While I was at the end of the pier launching my bait out there with my 9ft rod a boat (pretty sure it was a charter boat) parked within a few feet of where I had been casting as well as a couple other people. We yelled at the captain and he just ignored us. So what I did was launch my bait out there with a spider weight on it and landed it 10ft behind their boat. Once it was set in the ground I just left it there. Not 10mins later one of the passengers snagged my line and so I reeled mine up tight and watched as he played tug of war with me and my 80lb power pro. Saw him wrap the other persons line around his hand a few times and pull on it. I let him do this twice and then on the 3rd time after he got it wrapped around his hand I gave it a hard yank and snapped their line. I reeled mine back in and launched it right back out near their boat. About 10mins later they pulled up anchor and moved but where they moved to they were still within casting distance and right in another area people like to cast. I wasn't the only one who was hoping to hit their boat or even hit the captain with a weight.

That old shrimp boat gives good protection from the easy winds but not the best spot to be on 55

It's going to get packed over there these next few weeks with the drum run going on

Site 55, is one of my favorite locations, in Baffin. Dd not fish there at all, last year. Your post brought back some good memories. Thank goodness my memories do not contain a jerk in a boat.
