Fished the same area..in the water at 5:30 out at 7:30. Tide was even further out than the day before. Water was crystal clear with just a slight ripple on top. Threw a Gulp paddletail working it quickly to keep it off the bottom. First fish on first cast redifish at about 15"...released. About 10 minutes later another redfish just over 20". Continued to hook into about four more but all got off Then a skinny trout just over 19". Threw a little while longer lost a few more hookups Was ready to call it but decided to throw a few more casts and bam..redfish just over 25". Figured I would leave on a good note and headed in. As for all the ones that got away...not sure what was going on...happened to me the day before as well. Never have had so many come off like that. Brand new jigheads...even switched brands so it wasnt due to dull hooks. Maybe time to put new line...too much stretch? Any thoughts???

Good job, nice fish. Were you wade fishing?

Doubt it's a line issue. Who knows, but I've have days where I was just in a funk fishing-wise. A trip to PINS this past November with my old man and brother-in-law was like that for me. They were catching real nice pompano one after another, like 4 pounders. Dad caught his largest ever that day. I was catching one to their two and half the size. Very frustrating. I wanted to flip over my truck I was so frustrated. Maybe they just had to attack that lure, but weren't really hungry. Maybe you're just that good, you can get a fish to hit a lure even when they don't really want it. Haha, a good couple hours though really. _________________ Fish hard. | The other day when I was out we had the same prob. Fish were biting short and gut grabbed the tails and not the whole bait. Switched to smaller baits and longer shank jighead and that seemed to solve the problem; at least for that day. |

| Yes I was wade fishing...if you want to call it that. Was actually standing on dry land due to the water being pushed out so far...fishing a dropoff that is usually about 100 yards into the water. And the bite was aggressive but at the same time there were alot of short hits as well. Really had to be ready cause they would drop it just as soon as they would hit it just about. |
