I spoke with "Pirate Larry" Captain WEST-O-HELL with "ALLWETKEYWEST" adventures yesterday. He had just got back to the dock from a dive trip off Key West. He reported at the wreck in 150' of water the visibility was over 100'. At the reef inshore visibility was near 75'. For fishing in Key West the boats trolling are catching Sailfish, Wahoo and Mihi-Mihi. The boats fishing near the reef are catcing Snapper and Grouper. I had visited "Pirate Larry" a few years ago and he is without a doubt the last remaining true pirate left in the Florida Keys. He has a few youtube videos he has filmed on fishing trips and dive trips. He has one video of him diving a reef with coral fish, tarpon, stingrays and even sharks. You can check out his videos on youtube searching "ALLWETKEYWEST". I have not seen captain "WEST-O-HELL" in several years. He is quiet a character. Also, I forgot to mention, he is my younger brother. Laughing Have a great weekend and 'Happy New Year!" Very Happy

Captain "West-O-Hell" reports a cooler patch of water arrived in Key West a couple days ago reducing visibility at the inshore reef to near 35'. In fact it was the first day he had to wear a wet suit this winter. He mentioned the visibility at the deep water wreck, "The Vandenburg" was still great and fishing has not slowed down. He called and wanted to wish everyone here on "Corpusfishing" a Happy New Year! "Pirate Larry" in action just about to head into the sky on a parasailing adventure! Smile

Never fished Florida. Would love the opportunity to change that. That sais, it is hard to beat the fishing we have right here.
