I thought I hit the beach early this morning but there were already a few vehicle tracks in front of me headed south. Driving was 10+. There was a little weed in the water here and there but it was fishable. I tried a few spots in the 20's and 30's and picked up pomps at each on shrimp/Fishbites E-Z(clam, squid, shrimp and crab all worked). I also caught a few blues on the shrimp combos. That was the first time that happened to me and they tore up my DCD3 rigs. I tried frozen mullet at every spot but only caught blues. I probably should have tried cut whiting for a red.
I only caught 3 whiting and this happened to one of them.
I finished with 16 pomps. One was just over 5lbs and several were over 4lbs.
Well it looks like with Christmas and New Years coming that was probbaly my last trip for the year. So, Merry Christmas to all and have a great New Year! |
