I don't post much on here mainly because I am new and I am mostly a TKF guy, but I really like this site and wanted to share with yall what happened to me tonite.
Well tonite my buddy and I decided to wade the Lexington right at dusk and into evening for about two hours trying to snag a few fish before the front hits. Since the wife and kid are still out of town I naturally had a hall pass. I showed up at 6pm and I am putting on waders when this guy holding hedge cutters ( the 12"-18" in kind) comes up to me and asks me if the truck I am sitting on is mine. I told him yes and he told me he needed my truck. I told him no and then he said that he was going to die tonite and wanted me to know how my wife and kid would feel if I died tonite too.
At this point my buddy is looking for his gun and because we work at a gun free refinery he didn't have it on him. His next move was to start his truck and he was either going to run his a$$ over or if he lunged at me help out. I then told the psycho that he wasn't getting my truck and asked him if he wanted me to call the cops so they could help him.
After a few tense moments he walked off and then jumped on a moving SUV and tried to carjack another couple. The driver of the SUV floors if in reverse and the guy falls off the SUV and then walks up and down the street bashing in car windows with his trimmers. This all happend right infront of the Lex. I didn't like not being in control of the situation. I do believe that there are alot of "what ifs". Like what would have happened if I had not have shown up when I did and we got geared up at that time our trucks could have been wrecked. I couldn't help but think that if he had his weapon that he might have killed a man. Everything happens for a reason and I do believe my dad was watching over me tonite. Also another reason to go fishing with someone.
Becareful out there.

Wow that's crazy. In college I had some crazy drunk guy run up the stairs and try to tackle me at an apartment complex in Austin on the south side. His friends yelled to me "don't hurt him!" He was either psycho or on some drugs. Your guy sounds wigged out too! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Glad everyone is safe. I agree, defending a truck isn't worth taking a life. Trucks are expensive, but they are also replaceable. _________________ JJ |

Wow...my wife, two young sons, and I were down there this evening until about 5pm. I'm so glad I did not have to confront this guy as I was carrying my pistol with me(CHL of course). This kind of wacko is the very reason I carry. Had he walked up to my family and threatened us with those hedge clippers, I might have had to make a life altering decision. My truck is not sacred, but my family sure is. Glad you are safe and nobody was physically harmed.

Makes me wonder if I should take a CHL course. I'm usually out in areas where there is no civilization. I don't know that I would take a life but I would take aim at someones private part _________________ "Do not call my Jeep a Car ever again " |

| I took my family down there to the aquarium dollar day and was having a conversation with my wife about how the police should do something about all the vagrants and weirdos Down there. I felt unsafe. With all of the tourist down there you'd think that they would address this. |

Good thing you didn't take his life thats why I pay taxes. I love feeding and keeping scum alive in prison. I'm glad you are ok and no one got hurt. Remember you can always shoot for the butt or below the waist. Of course if you do that they will require a hospital and use more taxes. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I am glad you made it thru that situation! Also glad you shared it here to help others understand that danger is out there.
I can tell one thing that guy is very lucky to have walked away from there! It could have been very different!!! |
