Well i've been reading for a few years and I'm finally joining. Love the site! Went to packery two weekends ago and caught as many mangroves as we wanted along with some MONSTER skippies. No takers on the big rods. The guy next to me was throwing something on the bottom and caught a limit of 20 inch trout plus a few that were a little bigger. No pics as I didn't have a camera with me. The mangroves and skippies were on 2 inch gulp shrimp right next to the rocks sinking to the bottom.

I fish in baffin whenever I don't have the time/money to get to clear water. I don't have your touch when it comes to that bay that's for sure.

I have never caught a Mangrove, nor seen one caught. Did you fish on bottom, cast and retrieve, or let it sink and then retrieve? I'm not asking for the specific location of the rock, but was it closer to the far end or to the parking lot?

It was right before the slope in the concrete. Really doesn't matter where though just more towards the end than the beach and this year on the inside of the jetty for me. You don't need gulp it's actually easier to catch them on little pieces of cut bait I just like throwing lures. I caught a couple with cut bait just letting it straight down off the rocks. With the gulp it was an incoming tide and I would cast then let it drift with the tide and just bump it off the bottom
