Got your attention?!?!?!

Hey guys first time poster but have been lurking for weeks looking for info and details ...

Taking out the Tunnel this Sat /Sun (yeah I'm NOT one of those SA guys lol I've read about) for the first time and wanted to seek some advice from the tenured anglers here on the forum of some routes for the bay....

Where would you recommend a veteran angler but rather novice boater to the bays venture this weekend? Somewhere safe, not to shallow ... Operated alum jon w/25 for years but never ventured out to the bays in fear of shallow reefs and sandbars as I felt the boat wasnt "big enough" - pretty hard to see in front when you are sitting down ...

Fished the jetties and PackChann for years but finally purchased a boat and want to make the best of it before the winter really hits.

What would be a good route to take to put me on some good fish - i know no one wants to give exact coordinates but if someone can give me a general idea that would be much appreciated!

BTW planning on launching at Snoopys and if any one has some tribal knowledge or do's and dont's that they would like to pay forward and would love to share HERE IS YOUR CHANCE!

THX!

158 views and no comments or advice? Is there a secret angler society one has to join? Very Happy

My apologies if I mistook folks for wanting to share some knowledge ...

For something simple you can anchor up near the "drop" in the channel you will be launching from. Just run north or south in the laguna and find a spot that looks good 2 you.

Or you can drift the flats near the king ranch shoreline.

Pita Island, Nighthawk bay, Deadmans hole, Boat hole, Kates hole, Packery flats, Humble channel (flats on both sides of the freeway off of the Humble channel. Look on Google with aerial satellite view will help and it'll show you all the little channels but looks totally different when you get on the water. A good map from academy will also help with all the named spots. A lot of boat traffic on weekends will make fishn tough but keep moving around. All spots within a 2-6 mile radius of the boat ramps around Snoopy's where you say your gonna launch. They are not secrets just gotta be at right place at the right time. Good Luck!

my son and I will be coming to Corpus this weekend as well. We don't have a boat, just feet. So we will be fishing a few different places and looking to hopefully have fun. My 9 year old just wants to hook "something big"!

Anyway, I've done one guided trip down there, and we launched at Clem's. This was with Captain Singleterry (spelling?). We basically stayed right in the channel cut and just moved along different places. A bit north of Snoopy's there are some power lines, we fished under there and had some decent action on trout. We were a little further north from there as well with a bit of luck. This was early August of 2011, so not sure that helps any. But I do know that it seems there are lots of places right around snoopy's to fish. I think someone else mentioned that as well.

Good luck this weekend!

There is not a "secrect society" of anglers down here, however it helps if you have a de-coder ring. Just kidding. If you were down on Friday morning, I would be glad to assist.
