hide yo wife, hide yo kids.....wrong thread!
won't believe it until i see it, if it does happen, that's a total BS move....they should discuss hiring more GW to cover more ground first. _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

If its for a benefit I'm cool with it. But in a different manner. I say put it on your fishing license versus registering the yak itself. Similar to a stamp? I know some people that own a few yaks but don't use them all the time. Just posting it as a thought - no need for all the what ifs' please. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. Better idea...when buying a license, one declares their kayak(s) for their stamp and then gets $15 off the license total. |

| I really don't see how it could happen. Way too many yaks out in the secondary market with no documentation./serial numbers. |

| The law on registering all boats would have to be changed. Currently kayaks fit in with all other non-powered craft. If you have to register a kayak, then all the rowboats, etc would have to be registered. Not sure the politicians could handle that uproar. |

Yep -- here is the list from one of the links I attached above:
http://www.paddleflausa.com/showpage.asp?page=bacvesseltypes
Vessel Types - Who Could This Affect?
What is a Vessel?
The word "vessel" includes every description of watercraft, including non-displacement craft, WIG craft [Intl], and seaplanes, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water.
Go to Coast Guard Navigation Rules and Regulations to see source of the definition.
See this explanation of WIG craft.
According to the USCG definition, the following vessels would require registration:
Catarafts
Dingy/motor capable, some less than 10'
Expedition Canoes/muli-paddlers
Folding kayaks
Foldable boats
Human Powered Boats
Human Powered Vessels, unusual vehicles (website listings)
Hydrofoil Kayaks
Inflatable Kayaks
Inflatable Canoes
Inflatable Rafts
Paddleboats/electric versions available/less than 10'
Party tubes that hold more than one person
Pirogues
Pool Boats/up to 6'7" in length
River rafts that hold multiple people
Rowing Shells
Rowboats/motor capable, some less than 10'
Rubber Boats/electric motor adaptable/
Sailboats
Sculls/rowing
Shells/rowing
Surfboard
Surfski
Towables/some are 11' long
Waterbikes/capable of speeds up to 6 miles per hour
Watertrike/Amphibious Trike
Windsurfers
I would add Stand Up Paddleboards and Inner Tubes |

Towables???
Fricking ridiculous to even be brought up. Surely we have more pressing issues to attend to in Austin! _________________ Why is it that these days sales people seem to be as honest as I am knowledgeable? |
