Met with a client in Port A, so brought a spinning rod in for when I was done. Hit the beach about 6:30 midway between Access RD 2 and Fish Pass. Green water all the way in, no grass, no crowds, light wind small waves and bait fish everywhere. Great day before I even got the rod out.

Threw a strawberry tout for a little while and after a couple of little skip jacks, I changed to 1/2 oz gold spoon (probably 30 year old Johnson Sprite still in the packaging!). Couple of casts in, my drag took off. Had to look this one up when I got home!

Best I can tell, it is a Bluefish. Agree? First one for me and a good fight on a little Shimano Sedona spinning reel!

Always been an inshore fisherman, so it is always fun to see the variety in the surf.

Next cast, caught a nice sized pompano:

Bunch of small skipjack after that.

Good little 30 minute fishing trip and a nice way to wind down after work!

I think the second one is a jack. But I could be wrong.

It's always good to be out there.
For only 30 minutes you did great!

Don't know if that's a pomp. Mouth looks a little too large.
Baby Jack maybe?

14 more days and I'll be down there.

Actually, I couldn't either. Was wondering how the others were seeing them. I see the links, but not the pics. Any help getting pics to show in my posts would be appreciated.

They copied the links you put in there and then went to the site.

If you do that you will see the pics. If you right click the photo it gives you medium large etc.

I did that for the little jack on medium and right clicked the image where it gives you the option to copy the image address. Then you put it between the image tags [img] and [/img]

And here is the bluefish

Check for a black spot/mark right behind the gill slit on your jacks/pomps. If it has the black spot/mark it is a jack....if no black spot/mark it is a pompano.
