|
|
Going to take some friends from out of town to Malaquite beach tomorrow. Weather looks nice for fishing, but I don't know if its cool to fish in the non-driving area. I have never seen anyone fishing there in the times I have been there in the past. I am debating weather not to take a rod and real.
Any suggestions or past experiences fishing there in the past?
I know it will probably be packed with people, so it might not be worth it.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks. |

you can fish in the nondriving area, so long as you dont fish in front of the visitor center (swim only section)
i was on pins the other day and caught a bunch of whiting but nothing else |

That's what I figured, I guess I will leave the gear at home. Thanks for the response. |

Well guys, if yall dont like the whiting - you can dump them on me - I will be in the silver chevy - whiting is my family's favorite fish from this area. Btw, they taste terrible - dont even start eating them, like I said, dump them on me. |

Sorry, we love whiting too. I would just be the only one fishing, and I would probably get carried away and abandon our friends who are visiting, and I don't want to do that. I will just save fishing for another day when I can dedicate myself to it full-time. |

I fished the 12 MM last weekend and loaded up on smacks on a silver johnson sprite in the first gut. Water was gourgeous and there was almost no weed in the water. I caught them until my Jarvis Walker broke. Well, it was most likely the two jacks I caught that really broke the rod.
Between the smacks, jacks and lady fish, it was a fish almost every cast. The wife also caught a bunch of whiting, 5 went over 15 inches, with one pushing 20". All caught on green fishbites in the wade and first guts.
Plenty of fish to be had. |
