Corrosion X, Penn Protect, etc.
Make sure to wash them good with freshwater first. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

Swap the hooks out with good hooks like Owner. You'll catch more fish because they're "sticky" sharp and they last a long time even if nothing is done to them.

I use CLR on just about everything that develops surface rust, once I forgot I had my pocket knife while wading and I thought it was a gonner but I submerged it in CLR and all the rust disappeared. _________________ Don't Sweat the Small Stuff. |

| When the hooks are toast, or when they are bent out and over-rusted, is there a preferred way place to dispose of them (Like mono fishing line)? I know that the folks that pick up our trash hate having "sharps" put in 3mil platic bags for them to handle. Also, I was thinking the lead in old jig heads should be recycled as well. What do you all think? |

I cut up rusted hooks in small pieces so they're not dangerous. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |
