Every evening this week when I drive across the bay to Portland the tide has been really high, even to the asphalt going to Indian Point but the tide chart for june shows it should be low at 5:00. Is the chart wrong? Not enough wind to blow that much water in the bay.

Al Gore's fault. Laughing Laughing

Global warming = thermal expansion of saltwater + melting icebergs/Greenland Icesheet/Antarctic, etc., etc., etc. Rolling Eyes

Seriously though, I noticed it too around the Blind Oso / bridge to the 'Bluff. But really don't have a good explanation, as like you point out, the "highs" all this week on the tide prediction chart should have been right at MSL, so there is indeed an awful lot of extra water in the bays.

Unfortunately tidal charts don't figure in Low pressures when charts are printed. Very Happy

I went to saltwatertides.com and the chart was completely different, 1.6 to 2.1 higher than the one on this site. Big difference.
