I was wondering if any of you ever fish the main bay, around the platforms or near where the Oso flows into the bay, North of NAS? The bay water seems to be better looking most days than it does in the Lagoon. These skunk reports really have me down as I burn through my vacation.
Thanks. _________________ "Charlie Don't Surf" |

I have fished the gas wells around NAS and along the intracoastal, but I really don't go out into the bay itself much, it's always too damn choppy to bother with.
I've never noticed a difference in water clarity really. |

yes have fished the wells a lot. used to hold a lot of gator trout but last year was not so good. on slick flat summer days caught a few small fish on perch and gulps. see my post from last summer. I think the ingelside guys hit the bay pretty hard on calm days. If you can find the old shell pads where the platform has been removed those are the ones that may still have big fish. Still a lot of sandys out there, tge make a good fresh fish sandwich! The bulkhead bar (bayside of deadmans) will hold reds and drum on the sand and trout lay on the drop. _________________ You should have been here yesterday, they were tearin' 'em up. |

The entrance to oso can be pretty good at times, depending on the tidal movement.
People don't give oso the credit it deserves... I've caught some nice stringers of fish in there. Only caveat is all the dang noise from propeller and jet aircraft: I much prefer the peace and quiet just across the bay near deadmans or fishpass. _________________ 1.2.3,4,5. once i caught a fish alive.
