As in an island in the pacific??? Or are you referring to an island in Texas? Located in the gulf, closed by Mexico?

Not knowing it was an 8 year old worried or asking about jap junk floating in the Pacific I would have changed my answer to this. Dear 8 year old see if your dad can find the time to get a world globe or a world map and sit down with you and explain why the jap junk will probably never make it to the gulf of Mexico. We have enough junk floating up on our island. Most of the junk we get is from Americans who throw their junk into the water. Also our friends in Mexico and South America provide a never ending source of junk for our beaches. You can always find something for show and tell at the beach clean ups. Your dad will be more than happy to take you to a beach clean up so that you can see all the junk for yourself. Happy pickings....IMS Very Happy

Rough crowd though I am sure most didn't know king fisher was a curious 8 year old. Kudos to him for knowing about current events and debris from Japan washing on to our Pacific Coast. Time to do that teaching moment. I am not sure I knew which way currents worked when I was 8 though I did like to fish.

stan....
Laughing Laughing Laughing

8year old Shocked

but either way a good laugh, and a serious note, why the beach clean up and take out more than you bring in helps out..

maybe the 8 year old goes out with dad and looks at the beach like the old commercials with the Indian on the horse looking at the trash over the hill..

we need to do our part to keep our beach ours... yours and mine.. this is our beach and.... well, going to post.. and not hit politics

Kiddo... keep on asking the questions.. because this is a tough crowd but that what makes it fun.. Wink
