Started out the season today. First chance to fish since I can remember. Winds smoking and came close to blowing it off. What the hell, run shorelines and duck dodge all the way to damn near the cut. Found some clear water and it was on until the wind got to gale force. Water got dirty and it was over. Glad I went....

Good job TroutSlayer...... Very Happy

If you can find some good water the fish are there to be caught.

I still need to learn your spots close to home and quit burning all that gas. From what I saw out there no way anything could happen close to JFK either north or south....just nasty water. Hit em again today and three of us finished at 10am. Good thing cause the water got real crappy shortly thereafter. Let some big ones go.
Very surprised to see the marker 37 boys close by us today Rolling Eyes

I rescheduled all of my trips for last week, I can't justify making the run all the way down when I can catch them closer to home after the wind slows, which I understand is this coming Wednesday.
Besides most of my customers are like me....we're just not that mad at them...yet.
As far as where I fish up closer to home....ya might have to get in line. There are alot of people want to look at my GPS...boy, do I have them fooled...I don't use a GPS and I'm selling my memory to the highest bidder. Very Happy

Again, good job on the trout down south. Keep the good reports coming, there is still HOPE for all of us and another good season.

By all means the evil croaker are the culprit. I actually learned something about croaker. Until this year I would not buy them unless they were decent size. I fished Thursday in PA where my house is at and caught limits of reds using tiny in my opinion croakers. We had 25-27 reds inhale them. The ones at Cos's were bigger but still I thought they were too small. I was wrong. We had one last trout to get saturday and I put two on the hook(never done that with croaker) and it didn't sit for 1 second before the biggest trout hammered it.

Mike I hear you on the "not mad enough" but when you have to read all your threads with pics of nice trout in Houston and wish you could be there it makes you mad enough......also out of pure curiosity how much is the asking price for your "memory"? Mine was once high priced but it gets cheaper every year Laughing
