Getting ready for chasing reds in the flats and have modified one pattern and will try a new one for me. For years I have tied bucktail clousers but really like the look of one tied with extra select craft fur - gives a good shape both when viewed from the side and above.

Also, have tied the "Alien", a hybrid baitfish/crustacean pattern that at least has "caught" me. You can tie it fuller (like the one here) for more of a baitfish look or more sparse to look "buggier". We'll see.

Thanks! By the way, the "Alien" is a pattern developed by Capt. Bill Baldus. It is really simple to tie and a video demonstrating this can be seen here: http://www.flyfishinsalt.com/videos-sf/featured-videos/tying-alien Also, tying instructions appear in Fly Fishing in Saltwaters magazine. Tight loops!

Very easy pattern to tie, Robdog. JoeT - yes, I used a little lead wire to weight it. Go get 'em, Tyler.
