Taking the the wife down to the valley for some shopping as it will be her Birthday. She wants to go to the outlets in Mercedes. I want to get another carbonlite rod from from Bass Pro in Harlingen, and stop for some good Mexican food. Maybe some fishing on Sunday.

Take an old rod with you to trade for a pretty good discount.

Like most "deals", that only proves how overpriced things are and/or how much markup their is between wholesale and retail; kinda like some American Truck manufacturers giving "$10,000 off"!!!!!!! Embarassed

Hey IMS. We may see you again. Tyler, Kelle, Skipper, Karen, TexMaps, Kym, me & a couple others are doing another Progreso run manana. There has been talk of an early Bass Pro visit before Progreso. Outlet Mall is too damn crowded on Saturday. Come to Progreso with us!

would love to. Still have not got our passports. Its her birtday and I will face the crowds with a frozen smile on my face. We will be leaving early and having breakfast in Kingsville at the ihop and will be at bass pro when it opens or close to it. Then zip up to Mercedes. And then find some really good Mexican food. Any recomendations?

What time are all the folks going to make like cow patties and hit the trail to the valley tomorrow?????

Not sure on times yet. They usually leave around 8-8:30 but maybe earlier if going to Bass Pro.

Our favorite is La Playa but you have that there. I'm not too fond of most Mexican restaurants here. Pepes is ok, Platillos is good. Pepes is just north of Harrison on 77 Sunshine Strip & Platillos is just north of Harrison on Ed Carey. Las Vegas Restaurant is pretty good. It's on W Harrison.

Y'all need to get your passports!

Yup. See CaptMike's post. I missed the reel trade-in though. I've got some junkers I would like to get rid of.

Harlingen is my hometown, if you like fajitas try the Fajita Botana at Pepe's Mexican Restaurant. It is on 77 sunshine strip. And you could bring me back some carne guisada lettuce, tomato and cheese Pato's! From El Pato... also on 77! Cool
Kidding but, I sure miss those places!

I think by the time I got back to town I would be giving you an empty sack. We might go to the Las Vegas on west Harrison it rates really high. Last time we ate at Nortinos...it was so so.
