Imagine this, take a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder, add 1 busy Pack rat, $ 3500.00 dollars later....new wiring harness, new a/c ducts to remove smell of rat pee and such. It only took 2 days for the rat to do all that damage. In the ductwork, a sock, insulation from underneath the hood, cardboard from the shop trashcan. Amazing. The car is fine and the place did a great job. I'm thankful we have insurance my cost $50. The rat was not found so it's still around an great at avoiding traps. We now will refer to the car as " THE RAT MOBILE " we need to get masks and capes.
........................TO THE RAT MOBILE DEB!!!......................... Very Happy I hope this never happens to anyone else.

it has happen to me more than once. i just bought a new stove for our ranch because they got in the installation n peed. it had to be the worst smell i have ever smelled when i tried to cook some stuff in the oven.

i had them get in my 4wheelers and eat the wires and a hole in the battery plus in my old fishing truck they eat the wires on it. i have one now that i'm trying to kill.

they can realy tear stuff up.

Feel for ya buddy. We had the same thing here at the office on an Aerostar. Rats got to it about 3 different times underneath. No nest, just chewing on the harness.

It costs a lot to fix and i can promise you, it is no fun repairing all those wiring harnesses. i've fixed several vehicles like that.. worst one i ever had to repair was an Isuzu Oasis (old body style honda odyssey)... 82 wires, 10 feet of wiring, 216 butt connectors and a roll of shrink wrap. Fun

I didn't get hit that hard but it happen. Put rat bait inside engine compartment. I put most of it in the air intake before filter. Worked like a charm.

Had the same problem at my house. Rats chewed up wires several times. Fixed the problem by spraying WD40 everywhere. They don't like the taste or smell.

lol...That's funny. Anyway, sorry about the rats. My father had a Ford 3500. It was a diesel, and with the few wires it had in it, the rats managed to give a few hundred in damage. Not fun Sad

You need a big cat. I had a great one that passed away a few months ago. He was a complete rat killin machine. Killed 5-10 per week and had it down to a science. The last few years all he ate was the brain, heart and liver, left everything else for me to clean up.

RIP Bo
