After trying to go out two nights ago and fish the lights in 30+ mph winds, nearly flipping the kayak in the whitecaps in our canal and failing to even anchor in the stiff winds, they finally died down last night and I was able to get out for an hour and a half to fish. Launched at around 10pm with two beers, a tiny baggy of heb skrimps, some fish bites, and a glow bass assasin.

There were not a lot of fish in the lights but the ones that hit were keepers. I think because I was using a larger bass assasin it may have weeded out the dinks? Anyhow, two keeper specs, 22" red and a 15" flounder all from the lights. Quit the lights and soaked the stinky stuff on the bottom for drum. Got 3, lost 2 more. Could have stayed all night playing with them.

sorry for the lousy picture, left the camera at work.

Nice! I walked out at 3:30 this morning to check my light and there were probably 50 trout in it. Threw out a speck rig and immediately caught a nice fat 21 incher, spooked all the others released her then went to bed lol

I have noticed that fishing the lights after they scatter they will come back just takes a few minutes.

chaz, shoot me a PM when you want to fish. See if we can get chuck away from the classroom and back in the yak. We did so-so in the morning last week with trout and drum but we couldn't find any real solid numbers. At night though its been off the hook with the full/near-full moon. I suppose that may gradually switch though as the moon wanes.

Nice job Luke!!! Shocked

The guys on In Fisherman totally agree with the big bait/big fish thing when it comes to weeding out the dinks, especially with swimbaits which put out more tail throb and body roll.
