so i paddled out into the bay. it was a little colder and windier than i expected. i anchored up and started fishing some bait that i cast net in my canal(4 shrimp and a couple of mullet) i managed to land 3 little dink trout and a big pin fish. a boat was flying across the bay toward the flour bluff canals he was in the channel traveling at 30 mph. he saw me 200 yards away north of the canals he turned still going over 25mph and drove his boat directly at me in my little yak. i waved the yellow paddle making sure he saw me.. he turned the boat a (new Blue Wave with 150 horsepower and no rods on it) only a second or two before he was going to hit me. he drove his boat in two feet of water just feet from me cutting my float off on purpose and flicking me off as he sent a 4 foot wave at me. i almost flipped and got really wet.. he drove his boat north kinda where that pet salon is on laguna shores rd. needless to say it made me really mad . i paddled home pretty much after it happened i was really cold and mad.

I have never been big on the whole if im floating im toting thing.. mostly because i feel like i do better fishing when im not packing, but after this i do believe a cheap .38 special snubby will be with me when im on the Laguna.

i try to make friends with everyone i meet...i had never seen that guy or boat before and did nothing to him other than throwing my 2 foot fish gaff at him after he almost killed me(I couldn't find the gaff)

i anchored about a hundred yard past this its nowhere near the channel

got a nice top water bite next to these gulls in some super skinny water

See any numbers?

Just a thought, but a new boat without any gear in it suggests "test drive" to me.

Who sells Blue Wave down there?

thanks guys
im just glad im okay i don't think i would be if he had hit me Sad
i didn't see any numbers but i was also waving a paddle, trying to pull anchor, and see if i recognized him or the boat.

on a side note i put two rods in the canal last night one with shrimp fish bites the other with gulp shrimp. in the morning the rod with the fish bites had a small 18inch red. the gulp shrimp lost a whisker but didn't get eaten..
i though that was interesting i think im gonna be using fish bites more

Those fishbites are everywhere, you can always find little frayed pieces on the ground at most fishing spots, everyone is using them for Drummies!

That really sucks and I'm glad you're ok. Just be prepared to be burned all of the time now with all of this SSA and LIFA bs.
Unfortunately, I predicted this the moment a SSA was announced in the ULM. Just like WPP lumped the bad boaters with the good, idiots on boats will assume that every yacker is WPP and try to settle the score. This is only the beginning..and I'm afraid that someone will be hurt eventually. Just be careful out there everyone.

Makes sense to me and it's pretty ignorant to think otherwise given the guy's antics. Rolling Eyes
