Believing a report the red tide had left inreasing numbers of fresh dead hardheads at least as far south as MP 10, I didn't use the pomp window I'd forecast. Then I got reports that the fish kill ENDED at the 10 and that they slayed the pomps yesterday, so I went to see for myself this morning. Sure enough, the dead fish stopped in Little Shell, although it was hard to stop coughing from the aerosol stirred up by a brisk south wind. Down around the northern 40s, where there were a lot of good points, the aerosol was pretty much gone.

Moved 4 times and boxed 2 pomps and 8 whiting, most of which were caught within minutes of each other just before noon. Also released 3 reds, 30", 34", and 40", and 1 brown pelican, which I didn't care to measure. Everything except the pelican on fresh peeled shrimp and Fish'nStrips. Plenty of finger mullet in the first gut, but I wanted pomps.

Water was clear, but a scattering of fresh sargassum made long rods a bit tough to use. Driving not too bad, just the usual ruts in Big Shell.

I want to point the middle finger at the campers who abandoned cots at one spot and 2 bags of garbage the coyotes had emptied at another site near where I fished. Couldn't fit the cots in the Blazer, but I had 2 leftover orange trash bags from Billy's Big Shell Cleanup, so I brought the garbage back to the dumpster at the end of pavement. While filling the bags, I noticed these dipsticks had brought aerial fireworks into the National Seashore. Evil or Very Mad

Sorry to hear about those fools leaving their trash behind....unbelievable. And cots too?! Kudos to you for picking up what you could...and TFTR.

It's hard to undrestand why people do this are they Lazy, Stupid or just don't give a darn? Thanks for cleaning up after them though! Things like that that causes us all to loose access to places like the seashore.

I will go YES on 1, DEFINITELY on 2, and MORE THAN LIKELY on 3.

What I find most troubling is that they took the time and effort to pack this stuff all the way down there, so I know they have room in the vehicle to take it back with them?????? Confused
