Good evening all, started the day drifting Pita, came up on this poor guy(turtle) looks like a propeller struck him, what a shame, he was DRT!... The perch were vicious they cut my E.Chicken 5" padlle tail down to 4''s then 3",lol, I made several drifts there but didn't get anything. Moved down to KRS in front of the Windmill, throwing white Gulp Shrimp practically on the shore and dragging it back picked up a 25" Red here and missed one. Next, moved down to Pure Oil and Nada, then the Spoils just past B.I. Nada, then the South end of Night Hawk and Nada....So my natural instinct kicked in and YES I headed back to Deadmans where I knew my boys would be playing.(Social Misfits) On the way I saw Moderate to large amounts of dead Mullet around the JFK and no where else and no aerosols that I could tell.... First cast at D.M's landed a 27" Drum on peeled shrimp. I was so stocked cuz I knew it was on! Yup, there they are REDS, these were Bronze and big easilly counted 30 or so swimming in a pod and encountered 10-15 on every drift but nothing, no takers on my offerings! Ended the day with Two really good fish and the trolling motor worked perfectllly!

Poor Guy!

E.Chicken cut down, MEDIC!

Rod bending action!

The Gulp Shrimp

I didn't think my 12lb test was gonna hold up but got the drag just right and KABOOM!

BIG UGLY

Nothing beats a great pair of Drum!
25" REd 27" Drum

Yup, DMH has been like that for about a month. I will have reds all around me, and only been able to pull a couple out. however I was fishing near a guy using like shrimp one day and that seemed to work for him. I usally just throw artificial. Anyways, Nice report and how did the red tide look in the DMH area?

@ A/T I'll give you the gulp and throwing at what looks like impossible skinny water but I got the bent rods posted on my facebook since 1969! Lol J/K you got sum great skills!

@ Justfishing actually, those Reds are there all yr long and yes it can be frustrating having all that query around but they hit nothing YOU brought. If you search my posts many of them have this subject in them.....A buddy (5MoreMinutes) told me has a friend that fished for them a whole yr and only pulled a few....MAYBE, there's a captain that can shed sum light on this subject!

Oh,,, didn't see any dead mullet anywhere in DM's

Nice pictures and good story. I especially like the way you posted the lures you were using. Wish everyone would do it. There are a lot of people just learning salt water fishing and it is impossible to locate good lures when someone just post a nick name of a lure or some lure that is not stocked by Academy.

Drove across the JFK bridge on 10/15, tons of killed fish and I had to turn my ac off due to the Aresol... wonder if dead mans hole area is affected now. I hope this don't get much worse, hopefully the next norther will hinder the red tide.
