Went SBH about sunrise. First few throws with the castnet resulted in tons of shad. Next cast a little farther from shore netted 22 mullet. Fished the first gut until 10AM. Got 3 reds. One was 25" which went into my sons refrig. on the way home, and the other 2 were released. 28" and 31".

Stopped at NPJ on the way home throwing lures and nada. Water was kind of rough at the jetty. Will probably try again Wed or Thurs. Want to fight some bulls

It sounds like a good morning. The bait is more plentiful down there than up here around HI and I'm just having bad luck. Thanks for your report.

Did the Reds hit the Shad baited hooks or the mullet?
