I've been using 3/32 s.s. welding wire to build my weights,but fishing at BHP I have lost about 10# of lead. What is the name and strength of the more forgiving wire so I can retrieve my gear instead of tying on new ones?

copper single strand ground wire.
it's at most hardware store in different guages

I use number 12 electrical copper wire, never had any problems, they last forever.

#12 bare solid copper will work for most live mullet/ small cut bait fishing in a decent current
