I read this in the Caller Times today.
Ethanol blues
I have been purchasing gasoline at one of the last stores in Corpus Christi to sell ethanol-free gasoline.
Real gasoline gives me 20 percent better gas mileage than the ethanol stuff.
This week I stopped to fill up and learned that the government made the little store stop selling gasoline without ethanol.
We should all throw a tantrum, hold our breath till we turn blue, start a riot, or at least write our congressman.

It's not about saving the planet, even if the gov't keeps saying that it is. Ethanol is put into fuel for one reaon. Corn farmers receive subsidies to grow copious amounts of corn that we have no use for so the gov't has decided that we need to start using some of that corn since we're paying for it anyways (instead of encouraging the farmers to grow other crops that we could use more of, but that's another rant). Step one was to trick animals like cows and chickens (grass eaters) to subsist on a diet entirely of corn. Step two was to make people (omnivores) subsist on a steady diet of corn (HFCS) and third they decided we should also put it into our gasoline. Ethanol is not green and anyone who says it is has alterior motives. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

| And the price of deer corn has gone up from about $4 a bag to over $8. One place in Calallen had it "on sale" for $7 and change. Only problem was that it was packaged in 30# bags. |

The corn used in ethanol is number 2 corn (most corn grown in America is number 2) and is not used in food so we are not burning our food supply, but we are ruining our cars, boats, and lawnmowers. That is a pretty stupid society. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

| Yep, I stopped in yesterday to top the boat off and the little Chevron in the Bluff now has 10% Ethanol gas. It was a PITA to get in and out of with the boat but a great place to fuel up after fishing. Rudy's is now the only place I know of. |

Bummer, I had started buying gas at Bangs Chevron in the Bluff. Sorry to hear that they went to the dark side.
Good link for ethanol free gas stations around the state.

| Sadly, I understand that ALL gas in Texas now includes the terrible additive called Ethanol. That's right, we all get E90. The links on pure-gas.com are several years outdated, at least here in D/FW, none of those stations still sell gas w/o E additive. I'm pretty sure Pretty Ricky Perry had a hand in flipping the switch on this. Good job, tricky Ricky ! |

| At a minimum I can't understand why the state doesn't sell pure gas in an off road dyed format for boating. Make it illegal for use in a truck or car, but at least sell it for use in Outboards and small engines. Dye it whatever color they want. Of course something like that would seem to be logical. |

He said he had to, but I don't know how that's possible if Rudy's is still selling Ethanol free. |
