Fished the Laguna yesterday with one of my fishing buddies. We decided to make it a relaxing day of still fishing with cut bait, instead of the usual use of artificials and hundreds of cast. We cast netted some horse mullet in Pita Flats, then headed south to fish random spoil islands. The high tide, due to the tropical storm in the gulf, seemed to affect the bite, but we made numerous location changes and managed a nice box of fish. The bite died after 1:30 pm. Beautiful day to be on the water, but glad I have a T-top on my boat and don't think I could do without it this summer.
