Got to my spot around 530 to see some lightning and dark clouds
unloaded the kayak set it up and waited it out
finally it passed and i paddled out to my spot =)
nice moon to watch on the way water was glassy
i get there and right away spook some good reds...had one shot at a crawler but it spooked
fished this shoreline for a while came across a lot of fish
heres the first one
Before i throw a lure...This is what i call a crawler by the way
After i throw a lure...
i then came across a redfish that refused to eat and refused to spook
it finally hit and spits at the yak but doesnt spook it just swims off casually
i hit if again! and it spit and swam off by this time im thinking NOW ITS PERSONAL!
i chased this red for about a half mile spooking a lot of other fish just for this one!
and i got him
hit a limit in the yak and i decided to get a little muddy and wade around a inlet...
on my way paddling there a lound crackle happened and i dont remember any other sound just a crackle...
i was close to blacking out and just got really confused and dizzy for a second and my ears were ringing
lightning had hit REALLY close to me on the shoreline somewhere or possibly my kayak im not too sure...i look up and no threatning clouds in the sky and its sunny and hot...weird...anyways i drank some water chilled and went on to get muddy
hit 2 more reds and called it a day was a nice morning.. |

Glad you lived pal.................................. if I even hear thunder I head for a building, I've had too many close calls from pushing my luck! _________________ Dave

Lightening has been know to travel for 25 miles. One year the game warden was just toodling down the highway and his truck took a direct hit. $1,200 damage done plus it took out his radio. He estimated it was about 7 miles to the closest cloud. When I see ligtening hit the ground, I pack it up and find cover. _________________ "OVER A MILLION SPECIES ON THIS PLANET AND HUMANS ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CREATES GARBAGE" |
