Had to go to the dentist this AM and planned on fishing when I got back. I started getting my fly gear ready before I left so as not to waste time when I got back. Was running late so I left it all on a table in my backyard. When I got back every bit of salt water fly stuff I had was gone, plus other things I had in a duffle bag. A 10wt. rod, 2 reels, about 150 flies etc. I'm really bummed out right now.
My wife was at work, I had my new truck, my old truck is in the shop and I sold my van, so this is the 1st time there hasn't been a vehicle in the driveway. My neighbor didn't see anything so I think it must have been someone walking by. |

Man that sucks. Obviously not equating the two by any means, but nobody should have to experience dental work and thievery in the same day. That's just not right.
Do you have a back yard that is visible from the front or something? |

That totally bites. Sorry to hear. Was the equipment visible from your front yard? If not I agree with Capt. Mike. _________________

| My dog would lick them, the heron shows up when there's food, and the kids across the canal can't swim. I normally don't leave things in view but after 6 weeks in NM and the nearest neighbor 1/2 mile away you get in bad habits. |

| And if you are like me, you carry too high a deductible to get anything from the insurance company on a claim like this. |

People ask how I could in good conscience shoot someone over theft of STUFF. I ask, if we don't use the Castle Doctrine and make an example of a couple then it is just going to get worse. I like the Turkish (cut off a hand) method of solving the theft problem.
As the economy gets worse and worse, the amount of thievery, especially by the Druggies will continue to get worse too. |

| thats awful. similar situation here in town. while we were at the coast, they took all of the power saws from our shop that you cant see from the street. stuff has been in there and unlocked since 1997. i really am starting to think it was the cable tv guys. most of the stuff was old and sentimental. atleast my new gun rack was inside the house,:o), really a bummer. there was also a table saw they didnt take, but it had a very large wasp nest under it. im sure they got stung. i hate theives too. |

| Sorry for your loss. I would make a police report, because somtime you can get lucky and make a recovery of your stolen items. As a officer for forty years there's one thing i've learned about crooks. You can take thier opportunity away, but you can't take the larceny from there hearts. |
