Vote November 7th
Vote “AGAINST” charter amendment #1
Vote “FOR” charter amendment # 2
There are many people that own property on the island that are unable to vote..and people that visit this area from other towns on a regular basis....(S.A., Austin, etc.).....this is up to the full time citizens of C.C. (probably one of the lowest voter turnout areas in the state)...........I personally don't have faith in the citizens of this fine city, ONLY YOU can turn this around! |

Thanks for the pep talk Ginman. For those of you who don't know, Ginman would stand to profit from this closure as he has property in that zone. He is also an avid fisherman and knows what's behind this "pedestrian safe" garbage.
Thanks!

hello ginman,
i'm new to corpusand i will vote. it is so refreshing to hear that there are
some people who could profit from the closure but still see the forest even
if THEY call them trees.
along with beach cleanup, maybe look at city hall for a cleanup. _________________ ccbobber |

It is now time for all of the great people of Corpus Christi to do what is right.
VOTE
Our right to the beach rests in your hands. I do not tell people how to vote just do it and pray that it is the correct way. _________________ SALTYDOG AKA Cliff McKay

Yes please vote. There are many, many of us displaced native Corpus Christians who would love to vote, but can't.

One day we might elect city leaders who will see the beaches for what they are....a natural treasure that if nurtured, cared for and marketed in a way that emphasizes it's assets as they are, and as part of a life style that can't be found in the rest of country, the desired growth of this city will happen without giving away the very things that make this city unique.
We need to be of stronger stuff than Esau, son of Isaac, who sold his birthright to his brother for a bowl of stew.
Vote No on 1....Yes on 2. _________________ WORK TO LIVE, LIVE TO FISH |

I saw this thread when it first started, but have not had time to read the extensive posts since. What I can say is that we at TOBA heard several years ago that there is a developer who wants to close the whole of Mustang Island to vehicles in order to develop it out and make the most $ he can.
I did an interview on MOnday with an independent contractor who is doing a study of the Texas Coastal Management Program. Being that I'm all about public access, I got to talk alot about it.
The situation in Corpus got alot of attention. It will be brought up again at the Coastal Coordination Council meeting in December. There will be a federal review of the State's CMP at that meeting.
THe feds love to get public comment. Rainy and I made it to the review three years ago and now the State is being evaluated on enforcement of the OBA and the use of geo-textile tubes as shoreline protection. You need to come to the December meeting of the CCC and give your opinions about how the State is giving the coast away to developers regardless of how the vote turns out. (I really hope you win. We don't have enough people who vote in Galveston to take the risk you folks are taking. Kudos to you).
The Feds will appreciate it and there will be positive affects of showing up. The report of the independent review of the State's program will be available before the CCC meeting and I will have a copy of it for the Feds if the State doesn't; though I can't imagine the GLO not giving them a copy.
You have our full support.

I'm sure everyone knows but early voting is open at many locations around town. No waiting, very convenient and the folks there are very helpful. DR.
