Here's what Cole Park looked like after the 4th of July holiday. To most people's credit, the majority of the trash cans were all full although there were obviously more than a few folks who couldn't quite make it all the way to a receptacle. Kudos to the city for leaving the trash so that everyone could get a good look at it. Sparkling City by the Sea, huh?

Full cans are no excuse. People need to man up. Seriously. _________________

| How much extra effort does it take to take a couple of trash bags along with the Picnic basket and clean up after yourself ? Full cans or not, this is why Corpus is messed-up....Sad, really ! |

I agree, but how hard is it to have city workers out there emptying trash cans as the fill up? _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

aaron, we agree on a lot of things, but suggesting work crews being on site on holidays is another expensive idea. enforcing fines on those pigs who leave the trash is a much preferred solution.
the city could hire many add'l police and more than pay their salaries with the fines collected. the add'l police would also be available for many other events such as beach driving enforcement, parades etc. _________________ ccbobber |

One guy, a truck, and a box of trash bags is all it would take. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

As best as I can tell, the city could get rid of about 90 percent of the trash left in public places if it would just ban Bud Light. I don't know what it is about Bud Light, but apparently, when you drink it, you then feel compelled to leave every single can/bottle on the ground next to (of course not actually in) the packaging material that previously contained said can/bottle.
Interestingly, the Beast, Natty, PBR, Pearl, and even Steel Reserve do not seem to have the same effect on folks, based on the litter profile I have observed while fishing Corpus over the last 30 years. _________________

instead of hiring extra crews to pick up trash and stuff, why not use inmates from the jail to pick up trash?
guards are already on the clock anyway to supervise, why not utilize what is already there.... _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

| every time I drive back into corpus, one of the first things I notice is all the trash everywhere. it's not a holiday problem, it's a problem down there... people just throw trash out and expect someone else to clean up their mess. there is a task force for everything else in corpus, why not a task force to ticket people who litter? and none of this BS $25 fine.... fine the hell out of them, put them in jail, whatever it takes. corpus is a fine city and is heaping with potential.... but the littering down here is unlike anything I've seen. |

As we all know that 10% of the people that mess it up for everybody. And that carries over into every vocations.
We always carry a bag for that purpose, and take off more trash than we bring. |

Not enough boy scouts! I always leave with my trash plus whatever I can pick up on the way. If everyone would get off the idea of, it's not mine I'm not picking it up, maybe it would shame the rest of Corpus to clean up it's act. _________________ Live like you're dying |
