Curtis Cantwell caught and released this tarpon along the King Ranch Shoreline recently. He sight cast to it after seeing it tailing

packery channel.....

a buddy of mine hooked one a little further south last year. Seeing all kinds of "new" fish in the laguna these days.

Awesome Catch and Pic..

I caught my first Tarpon on the North Packery Channel Jetty several years ago, on a live finger mullet below a popping cork...It was only about 3 lbs, but i thought I'd had a State Record trout for the first couple of minutes... Laughing

very nice, perfect size for trout gear - I bet ole packerychannel helped make this happen......what do you guys think about more gulf passes? did the "land cut" used to be a man made pass to the gulf?
