| Does anyone here collect old fishing gear? I have a 2400 yard spool of 14# stren in the original box and nothing off of the spool. It was something my gramps had. Trying to figure out if it is worth anything. |

Try Ebay.
I have been watching mirrolures daily for the last several months. Sometimes vintage lures sell for up to $10, but usually a little less.
In the past week, I have seen 3 Mirrolures in the Purple Demon color sell for over $20. I think there is one now that is up to $30 or more! |

I have been doing good on Ebay selling some vintage Heddon Gamefisher lures. I get around $20 for them. Anyone know of a forum for vintage fishing lures? I have a few that I can't ID. _________________ Give a Man a Fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a Man to Fish and he will sit in a boat And drink Beer all day. Fish 24:7 |

You are right. I have no idea why there were people willing to pay that much for them. I think I saw 3 go, one of which topped out at $40 plus shipping!

Maybe Mirrolure has stopped making them but haven't updated their catalogue yet??
I have not done very well on the PD however people in FL love 'em. |

| I use to collect vintage fishing gear (lures, rods, reels, sinkers, you name it) and have bought and sold thousands of lures over the years. About 10 years ago valuation of this market began to fall and only the most collectible, rare, and top condition items bring any real money. That being said, I agree that your best bet would be eBay but, you may find that listing fees, a sales fee, then having to package and ship may not be worth the trip to the post office as I would expect your line to bring less tha $20. |
