I can't say full swing but I do have a report for ya, another guide (friend of mine) had a tourist charter the day before yesterday they didn't leave until after 10:am. He fished Packery and caught alot of sheephead on live shrimp.

Took my sister from out of town down for a walk along the south port a jetty, and guys along the channel side weren't catching much but on the surf side I saw a handful of sheepies come up while I was there. Good size too.
By the way, the water looked GREAT! some big mats of sargassum starting to come in, but very spaced out, and very fishable. Off topic, but I did see a 5ft + shark hurtin belly side up at the surface in the middle of the channel. A few boaters stopped to try and revive it for about 20 minutes but to no avail. Sad. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

FINS, here is a secret MO around the rocks
Try really hard to catch trout.
Think: If I can just let the bait fall past the goats slowly into the fat shouldered trout that I know are there.....
Well, those sheeps will hear you think and just gang up on you.
That's my experience anyways and how I found out how the goofy tooths are fun to catch, a PITA to clean, and just weird and sweet to eat.
I like them.
If you fail, you can always catch a fat trout, if you can.
Either way.

Yep, firing up the PW Herman bicycle now with the after market mods and flying fast and low, under the radar, above the debris and trees and splattt....don't feel so good now.
frayed, if I left now, there would be a multidimensional goat screw of redneck proportions to deal with upon my return, and, it would not be fair to the bystanders.
FINS, seriously, goats and trouts have dentures and draculas for teeth respectively. One chews and the other chomps, but they hang around similar rocks, and thus, can both be caught while
Trying to fish for trout.

| Thanks Guys! Hoping to get down there sooner than later. Went after a pig this weekend instead. Had a 100lb sow take 1 to the face, go down then get back up and take off on me only never to be found. Bummer. Think it moved and i hit it in the face rather than brain. Doh |
