|
|
I cant afford a motor type boat and due to health issues I dont think that I can paddle a ton by myslef. so I was thinking about a two person yack. My wife and I love to fish and we are thinking about ways to get to different places (wade fishing not so easy). I was wondering what weight capacities are on them and if someone knows of a good place to rent first before we buy. Any ideas of makers of good affordable starter yacks would also be very helpful.
Thank you so much,
Michael |

one of the nicest sponsors we have is jerry b' kayaks on north side of SPID
between Waldron & Flour Bluff. Jerry & Debie will treat you right, tell you right, rent what you want to try and smile too.
give them a try. _________________ ccbobber |

My wife and I have a tandem yak and love it. Gets the 2 of you together and you can fish while she is your trolling motor.lol The big problem is when only one goes in it. Doesn't track real well like that. I've learned that when I go alone to add weight in the front of the yak, ice chest, tackle box etc.
Ditto on what bobber said about Jerry and Debi. Good people and if you buy from them will back there products. |

| I saw on the Ocean Kayak site that they now have a battery powered Kayak. It looked pretty cool but I didn't even look to see how much it cost. L |

If I had one of the tandems, I'd strap on a side board, mount a small 12v trolling motor and battery in place of the SHMBO when I fished without her. Of coarse you will have to register with TP&W. Bet it wouldn't cost 2000 to do either. |
