the last storm apparently took not only my NEW kayak paddle (xmas gift) but my back up too. both were on the deck, and must have blown away. I know they weren't stolen because other valuables were still on the deck.

They were:

Black aquabound paddle, carbon fiber shaft, more details available if you pm me.

Carlisle daytripper paddle, silver aluminum shaft, black blades.

I am offering a reward for the aquabound paddle.

Both should still be floating in the vicinity of the white cap canals, or somewhere to the south. If found, please do the right thing and send me a message or respond to this post.

Are currently attached to paddles floating in the laguna. Any more suggestions?

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes I can think of about 150 ways to prevent my kayak paddle from blowing away in the future. And had I thought that it was even a possibility, I would have deployed one of those 150 ways, including my personal favorite - put the damn thing in the garage. Nevertheless, I didn't post here looking for advice on anchoring my equipment Laughing , though it is appreciated chef Wink , just wanted people to keep an eye out for it.

I think I am just going to buy another one.

Trying to get my bearings. By Whitecap canal do you mean the main one that goes past the Yacht club, former cement plant?

Thats the one Z. I don't like right on the main canal, but on one of the side canals, and unfortunately its one of the side canals near the yacht club, towards the end. So the possibility of them floating out to the laguna are purdy good.

Sorry about your loss. I like the Aquabounds. Good bang for the buck and the blades work well for kayak fishing. REI sometimes has very good sales on them.

10-4 fishbyte, that is exactly where I am looking to get a replacement. The carbon-fiber shaft was rediculously light, and at their prices its a steal.

Just a thought, I've been using a Wind and Wave special for about 7 years and it has been through the wringer. You name it and I've done it to this paddle. It also moves my heavy rear end around at a pretty good clip.

I won a carlisle carbon paddle and found that they didn't generate the power I need. Just a thought before you spend a whole bunch of $$$.
