My wife and I are thinking about coming down to Port A in Dec. or January. I was wondering if Oso bay is a good place to get some fish (reds and trout) this time of year. I have a kayak but not sure if I will bring it, so I might just be walk in wading.
Another place I went to during the summer was, as you leave Port A (after you get off the ferry) Just before you get on the bridge heading into Aransas Pass on the left hand side. Not sure what this is called but there were some high wires right here. Wondering about this place during the winter as well.
Any ideas would be great, trying to see if it would be worth the trip (for fishing)
Thanks

Oso's generally pretty shallow for the winter bite. look for deeper water.

I have caught flounder and seen a few trout/drum caught at the mouth (bridge on ocean drive) of the oso in november, but it was slow after that whenever i went until march when the trout were plentiful again.
