Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster. Decided to get a username. Will be heading to SPI this thursday through the weekend. I want to do a little surf fishing for trout and whatever else will hit. What types of lures should I bring? What is biting right now? Is the north side better then the south side? Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thanks |

Been on SPI since Friday night. Water was dirty until some time Sunday night. About 2am we were headed south on the island and there were thousands of mullet right on the shoreline. They jumped like those carp in illinois as the headlights hit the shoreline. This morning, we hit the surf again at daylight. It was very easy to catch mullet all day. Ended up with two beautiful specks, a few whiting, and about a 30 inch hammerhead (nope, not a bonnethead) that was released. As they say on the board, the water was light green and ver conducive for the trout. Plan to hit it again tomorrow morning. By the way, keep an eye on Karl. _________________
