Ok, so heres officially my 1st question to post on here...

Every time I go to my house I pass over oso bay and there is usually somebody fishing on that little peninsula out there.. Everytime we pass over we laugh because we think there is NO WAY people catch fish back in there.. it super shallow and always dirty.

Is that entire 'bay' super shallow or are there some deep parts in there? I've heard the bridge over by c.c. bay is decent fishing, but way back in oso???

Any body have any experience or heard any "tales" of maybe back in the day

there can be a lot of fish in the Oso. its very shallow, and the mud is very deep so no wading. nasty sticky stuff too.

those folks you see on the peninsula are sail-lining.

Next time you make that drive, look even farther into the back of the Oso (other side of the bridge, looking towards the south) and notice the folks hiked out on the old railroad tracks across the Oso. There is some really good fishing back there, in that "shallow, stinky mud-hole". Even farther back, past the mud-bridge (or the new and improved Yorktown Road bridge for you youngsters) you will find people fishing the area. Especially at the CPL outfall during the winter. And it's even SHALLOWER and MUDDIER back there. Don't be too quick to poo poo the Oso. She's a fine gal, despite the lack of her being a real "looker". Cool

That's right, Looker, I didn't even kiss her!

It isn't worth the effort to fish the OSO...there are NO fish there. Nothing but stinky mud, grass, old dead crabs and big hardheads.
Tooooooo much trouble to go there. Bad water, spoiled fish..

Mike

I saw a guy walking back to his vehicle a few weeks ago dragging a stringer full of fish. It's good fishing back in that area. Only a TRUE Capt. would have pictures of trophy hardheads. I'd ask to see the actual mounted ones.

I think you should go fish the OSO!

I hope you catch your limit!

I think you should spend as much time back there as you want!
