I have a plastic one I got from Defalco's in Houston. It is some sort of special plastic designed for brewing - something to do with being less air-permeable than other types of plastic. Usually, I am a purist in matters such as this, but I will never go back to one of those heavyass glass jobs. Used to make me nervous everytime I had to carry it, especially when it was full of beer. Plus, with a plastic one, you can put a spigot in the bottom. I wish I had spent the money and ordered one with a spigot when I got mine. I kick myself every batch.

I presume you already know this, but there is a liquor store on Weber that sells homebrew stuff. Not sure what they offer by way of primary/secondary fermenters, as I already had all that stuff when I moved back down here. |
