Its funny how many
global warming" summits have been disrupted by cold weather, year after year.
I really like this map from NOAA and hamweather. It plots record highs, lows, record low daily high temps, records rainfals, and record snowfalls for a week at a time.
Check it out:
http://mapcenter.hamweather.com/records/7day/us.html?c=maxtemp,mintemp,lowmax,highmin,snow
I also like this. Its a more accurate description of temps:

Big John, you and I are presenting too many facts on this subject!
Thanks for that weather link, one more that I can add to my website! _________________ Dave

Yep, and there's not a damn thing that ANY human can do about it!!! Yellowstone is due to blow again sometime soon [geologically speaking], and that will make Krakatoa look like a hickup!!! _________________ Dave

When do you thing the pendulum is going to swing and these nut jobs declare Global Cooling? I think they are just looking for something to hang their hats on in order to control more stuff and make bureaucracy bigger. Maybe I should SHUT IT! Don't want to give them any ideas. _________________

Chef Lefty, THAT'S what they were saying in the 70s!!!!!!!
You hit the nail on the head though: there always has to be a "crisis", to hopefully scare the masses and gain more power and control. As Rahm "dead fish" Emanuel quipped on international TV not long after the new administration took office, "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." _________________ Dave

Don't get me started on "proven facts" LLBB. There is no such thing as proven fact in science. ANd if theres one thing I have learned not to do on this forum anymore, its get into scientific/political discussions with fishermen on this board. Its clear that I am out of my demographic, but I don't care how outnumbered my ideas are here in this particular online microcosm of south Texas conservatives (or in daves case, right libertarian who thinks very conservative most of the time). You folks are great for fishing stories, advice, and a few laughs, but trying to argue a politcal or scientific point of view with more than handful of you is like trying to put out a housefire with a squirt gun. It just isn't happening, it just isn't worth my time. Doesn't mean you are right, just means you are stubborn, which can be good in many cases, and foolish in others. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

"(or in daves case, right libertarian who thinks very conservative most of the time)"
Dude, you only believe that I think VERY conservative most of the time because you're coming from such a far left base of thinking!
By proven facts, I'm talking about just that: the fact that information (data) is PROVEN to have been changed, manipulated and/or left out, to come up with a theory AS FACT that some wish to put off on the public at large.
Also, as to this: "There is no such thing as proven fact in science". What do you call these my friend? http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/newtlaws/
Notice that they are called laws, not theories or hypothoses. _________________ Dave

Here we go again....I don't want to do this.
Judging by the "scientfic evidence" you often provide, you clearly know how to use google. Just google laws of science, hit up good ole wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laws_of_science
When I say there are no proven laws in science, the key word isn't "laws", its "proven". Scientifically speaking, you can only disprove something, you cannot prove anything.
This is just a tenet of science in general. We seek to test/disprove/falcify the laws/theories/hypotheses. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |
